Asha Lorenz hasn't released one of her solo tracks in 7 months, since the drum machine-addled, jolty 'Oh Boy'. Singer of South-London indie quartet Sorry, Asha's solo stuff ventures more into electronics and alternative soundscapes, expanding on the indie guitar sounds she's known for. Her new single 'desert islands / Scar' is reminiscent of Sorry's Domino label-mate, Woodbine. Acoustic guitar stutters beside chopped beats and electronically distorted vocal snippets, and discordant, almost jazz-esque electric guitar sqeals. Asha's vocals are cool and nonchalant as ever, asking 'when everyone's the same, how will you stand out?'. -Ellie Rose-Davies
